TSA and fish

So I've been pondering this problem for a while:
Can you get fish through the TSA security screening?

And the answer is... yes!
and bettas are definitely small enought to sneak on the plane without paying a fee...

the requirement are as follows...

"
1. Bring it in a clear, sealable container
2. it must be ALIVE to pass the ‘water test’, as to rule out the water being dangerous
3. the vessel can be over the regular 3.4 oz rule, aslong as it follows 1 and 2.
"
hope this will help people!

Hmm... smuggling a betta onto a plane. Kinda crazy kinda intriguing.

So say I was to travel to a different country and found a amazing betta. I could bring it back to the US with no problem if I followed those guidelines?

the guidelines are for tsa only... It means that you can get on the plane with a fish. but going to foreign countries, you will often be subject to that country's customs.... most likely you will need a certificate to get a fish out...

too bad huh? i wanted to bring toothbrush with me :O

I have done ALOT of flying in the past 12 years with living in Alaska and all but I would not trust the TSA SOB's with any of my fish..or customs.
And yes, you can take bettas from canada to the USA or vice versa - no snails though
