Two questions

1st question: What is the longest amount of time that a pair should be given to spawn before starting over with a new pair? My guess would be a week if they're not being fed during the breeding process?

2nd question: Can two females and 1 male be together in a breeding tank (5 gal. of water in a 10 gal tank)? Does that present any problems with aggression or success? Will the male choose only one female or both? Problems I could forsee might be: the male guarding the eggs against 2 females, choosing one female and attacking the other, spawning with both females and having a ton of eggs.

I usually give them a week unless the female is showing too much fatigue while the male is too aggressive.

I'm not really sure how to explain the second question but I'll try my best.
Male will breed with any female that's willing to breed. Problems may arise if both females are responding at the same time ..... but usually the alfa female will breed first.

IME a bigger area is better for mutiple female method. Try using those plastic tubs - 60cm diameter (I think it's 7g in total). You can fill it up to the volume you desire, add plants in one half of the tub and place a cover on top of the other half (the male will nest under the cover).

OFL has better experience with this method.
