Gettin' good at this!

I'm so proud of myself lol...I managed to get 3 water changes done in less time than it took me a month ago to manage just one! I know it sounds silly, but when you get a rhythm down, and it all goes smoothly, it feels so good! All five bettas are healthy and no one got injured this time, even Bandit wasn't so tough..I had to net him gently instead of cupping him...but out of the tank and back in with all of his parts in tact lol. I'm a happy mama.

Yeah...between the five bettas, the three rescue dogs, one a puppy..the house, the hubby, etc., it feels good at the end of the day when exhaustion has set in, but everyone is taken care of and happy. Sigh..yup

I try to sneak up on mine with the net. Otherwise I'd be chasing them all over the tank which isn't good for them.

I'm a newbie so when I finally got a gravel vacuum that helped a lot. I also like those stick-on ammonia readers, even though I have a test kit also. I just change water any time that indicator barely even changes color. Today when I saw dead fish in cups at Petco and couldn't take any fish home, I just figured I would go home and make sure all my guys had really clean tanks instead. :/

I know how you feel! I did my first 100% water change yesterday, after just doing 50% changes once a week, and Larry looks so happy!!! He's swimming all over and swims up to me when I come close to the tank, and I'd like to say its him "giving me love" and saying thanks for looking after him

Love the feeling that he's happy...

Now that I have the otos I use the gravel vac ( carefully!!) for my water changes. Haven't sucked anyfish up yet thank goodness. I imagine when my tank is all planted that I will have trouble using the vac??
