Hungry Bettas

Hey everyone I was just wondering if your Betta fish are always hungry? I feed them twice a day and give them pellets and freeze dried blood worms every other day. Every time i walk into my room, they are begging me to feed them. I of course ignore it because I know they have tiny stomachs, but I feel bad sometimes. Just wanted to know if it is normal or are my fishes just fat :D

Yeah, they always act hungry, and will eat whatever you give them (for the most part). Its their instinct to be opportunistic eaters, so if they find something they like to eat, they'll eat as much of it as they can. One of my boys ate enough flakes to bloat him to nearly twice his size, just because he could, while I was feeding my shrimp.

Yep, he's a pig lol I learned that the hard way. Haven't had that issue since, though!

I've heard the phrase: a hungry fish is a healthy fish. And it's true. The minute you fish doesn't want to eat is when you know something is wrong. I wouldn't worry about him being hungry all the time.
