Updates on the Boys!

Sonas, my CT, is in quarantine right now, so all his updates will be older photos. Don't mind the mangled fins.... I have really hard water, oak leaves are hard to come by, and I can't afford to spend much more money on fish (and thus can't get any IAL).

My unnamed HMPK is... still unnamed. He's a feisty little devil, and is always moving. Its so hard to get photos of him.

Leomhann (lay-oh-van), my King, was just moved into his 10 gallon with his buddy, an albino bristlenosed pleco (before I get jumped on, albino bs plecos are smaller than the regular ones. They max at about 2-3")

Dov, the DSHMPK was just moved into the 3 gallon Leomhann was in while the 10 was cycling, and I think he's slightly intimidated by all the room XD I couldn't get him to flare much, but I did get one little one out of him.

Anyway, here's a mix of new and a little bit older photos of my boys :D (I have so many pictures, I'll keep one fish per post XD)

im pretty new at actually having betta's other than the poor vts i had when i was young. it looks like you have real oak leaves in your tank. do you? if so, what do they do for the fish?? Thanks

Yep, those are real oak leaves. The naturally dried ones that you can pick up off the ground (not pull off a tree) are supposed to release tannins and be theraputic to the fish. Since some of them are in unfiltered tanks, and are rather new, I figured I could try them out. There's more that they do, but I can't remember exactly what else. They're supposed to be cheap/easy substitutes for Indian Almond Leaves - which do the same two things that I said, but they do it better.
