Tom, my 4 y.o. betta fish(my first baby) died. I am making a memorial page in a bit. But he had a 5 gal and Red(my other boy betta fish) is in a 2.5 gal. Tom died a week ago and everything in his tank is still in there. I want to put Red in Tom's tank. Should I like, do something to Tom's tank? And how should I move Red? Thank You!
I'm sorry he died. :( Does the tank have a filter? It won't hurt to do a 100% change if you don't. And did he die of old age or a sickness? If sickness, you'll have to do the bleach treatment.

Thanks. Tom's tank has a filter. I haven't turned it off since his death(1 week ago). 100% change? Should I clean the silk plants and rocks? We are 99% sure Tom died of old age. He was 4 years old.
Hm. The tank is cycled, correct? If it is, or even has any beneficial bacteria, just throughly clean the tank with a gravel siphon. Do a 95% change and it should be fine. You can take out the decorations, clean them, and put them back in if you want. Just don't do a 100% change.

It's OK. I mean, did your filter finish getting enough bacteria to eat ammonia and nitrite? And a gravel siphon is a tool to clean gravel and to suck water out with your direction.

Yep, no ammonia or anything. So that's what their called! I have one and I shall use it and clean the plants and all. One more question: How should I transfer Red into Tom's tank? Tom's tank is in The Office(computer room) and my room is just across.
