how do I know if bettas are ready to breed

I have an elephant betta or whatever it is called and it is a female. can anybody tell me what does a female look like when they are ready

I'm not a betta expert; however, all female egg laying fish look fat when they are ready to breed. When they are fat, it usually means they are full of eggs.

A female when she is ready to breed will show verticle stripes when she is in contact with a male. She will also swim with her head lower when ready to spawn (submissive posture). And as already stated, she will be fat with eggs.

I have a pix of a barred girl...let me see if I can get it posted here.

It is in a Group and not on my personal account. I'll get it up as soon as I figure it out...or i'll put it on my website under Stock/Stock Shop...

Thank you V!!! She is my little hussy ;)...she is spastic, but I put her next to a male to flare at him for pix...and she did that???!!! LMAO
