Ok so everyone has all these great close up pictures of their betta.. that look completely fabulous and I keep trying and trying and I cannot get the same outcome!

Lots of watching your fish with the camera in the ready & then snapping pic after pic because just as you're clicking the button he or she is moving. I've deleted more pics that had good ones. Sometimes you have stand still so the Betta will settle, mine have a tendency of following where I go so if I move they move. Patience & persistance.

Shellieca is right about taking tons of pics to get just one good one. That is how I feel about photographing a lot of things.

But you can also tell when someone has a super expensive great camera. The really nice shots are obviously not done with a phone camera or a cheapo camera.

To be honest my single decent photo of Echo was taken with pure luck, I was photographing his tank and thought I'd have a go at taking his photo too... he, as always, didn't approve and flared at the camera until it went away.

Well it went away with a decent photo and evidence of his grumps for all to see!

...I think it's mostly a matter of patience though heh.

Close up, flash turned low and sneaking up on the little fishy. I got lucky in the past with diva fish who loved the camera but my current boy? Hates it hates it HATES IT there's this joke that the camera is his sworn enemy.

Just remember...Nothing's cuter then a pic of a sleeping/sleepy betta. XD
