A fine specimen of Marbledom

Here's the newest picture of Ghost, and for reference, though I know I've posted them before, older pictures that show his history of color flow. He is a double ray marble crowntail.

He was one of the bigger bettas they had when I got him from Petsmart. About what age are most normal full grown bettas sold in chains? 4-6 months? I'd say he was on the upper end of the range, so maybe 6 months? And I got him in March, so he's probably about a year old now, if my wildly unfounded guess about his initial age is anywhere in the ballpark.

I'll admit, I got him cause I loved the white and crimson color scheme, but as with my kids, I am finding that as he's changing, my favorite aspect of him is "right now."

It's fun comparing the pictures. I'm trying to take one every month or so.

Yes, I have a favorite, and it's him He's the betta I got for me after getting the kids each one to put in the 2.5G tanks I had gotten them for Christmas. After a short while, I realized that if the kids were to have any hope of actually taking care of "theirs" that I would need one for myself! I'm still the nurse if something is going on with theirs, but they feed and help with the water changes.
