Unhappy My New Rescue

Long story short, I have been looking at this sad little Dragon HMPK for about 3 weeks. I have felt guilty leaving the store without him every time, but I knew I still had Heart Breaker in his hospital tank and until I upgrade him I had no space. So I finally gave in on a new tank for Heart Breaker and getting my newest rescue. This little guy is very pale, extremely underweight. Once acclimated to his new hospital tank I fed him frozen blood worms that he devoured. He swam around and checked out his new home for a bit before resting near the surface on a silk plant. I sure hope he makes it through the night, he did look like he was breathing hard. Pray for this little guy, he deserves to know what being cared for is all about.

Wow... really...? He looks so fragile... I'm sure he'll turn around! You seem to have a gift for bringing bettas back to life and bringing people together. Best of luck, Candice! I look forward to subscribing to this topic and watching future events.

I am so sad to say that this little guy passed away today, his lonely time at Petsmart took its toll on him. I cant express the saddness and anger I am feeling. I understand you cant save them all, but it just sucks they have sick fish 5 feet away from everything that would help make them healthy again. I feel really sad and I feel like I let him down. I wish I had picked him up when I first saw him.

I'm so sorry. My heart shattered when I saw this little one, he didn't look like a betta at all. Thank you for trying though, you did what you could and I'm sure he sensed that. He had a time - no matter if it was small - where someone truly loved and cared for him and that kind of time is unendingly precious.
