just noticed this

http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...2352&lmdn=Fish

does anybody have thoughts on this or even use this product? would something like this be more harmful or more helpful? should this even be a consideration?

I remove water every time I vacuum my tank. The tank needs vacuuming every few weeks. I can't let poop build up for 6 months!

Not sure how that works......

That sounds unsafe. It doesn't really specify how it works or for what size tank. I bet it's totally unsafe for small tanks like 2-3 galllons. I would just do the water changes!!

Nothing can replace regular weekly water changes. It's just one more chemical to place in the water and more money out of your pocket.

It has good reviews because it hasn't killed a fish. But unless they are testing multiple times a day for multiple days, keeping a chart, etc etc.. most people will just be basing their opinion on whether the tank looks clean or not, and whether or not the fish is alive.

It depends on how large the tank is, and whether or not it is filtered before you do any 100% water changes... if the tank is unfiltered and below 5 gallons then you want to do regular weekly water changes as waste and debris build up and a few drops of a chemical at one time or another won't stop the build up of ammonia and such.
