I did not mean to offend anyone, I was just going from experiance.
I don't think it's possible to know whether clove oil is humane. Do you really know the fish was sedated by the clove oil, and the vodka didn't cause it extreme pain? The fish came come back from the dead amd tell us it was OK. :/ It just doesn't seem like a nice way to die.
And just think about it carefully for a minute, how is it in any way right to put a tropical fish that is used to nice warm water into freezing cold temperatures??

Restlessness
Fish begins to lose coloration
As cysts develop, body may become lumpy
Fish has difficulty swimming
In advanced cases spine may become curved
Secondary infections such as
fin rot and
bloating
