It could be intestinal parasites. My betta fish picked up parasites from pond snails. Does your fish have stringy poo?

I heard thisscreening experience Is actually horrible for the fish.

Someone who worked for PETA told me.

You're right OP. I hope your fish recovers. Guys, can we take the euthanasia discussion to a new post? It's really inappropriate here. :-/

Unhappy

I did not mean to offend anyone, I was just going from experiance.

I don't think it's possible to know whether clove oil is humane. Do you really know the fish was sedated by the clove oil, and the vodka didn't cause it extreme pain? The fish came come back from the dead amd tell us it was OK. :/ It just doesn't seem like a nice way to die.

And just think about it carefully for a minute, how is it in any way right to put a tropical fish that is used to nice warm water into freezing cold temperatures??

Back to what matters, DormDrax's fish.
I just looked on a site on neon tetra disease and it sound kind of like that.
http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/di...eondisease.htm
Symptoms:
Restlessness
Fish begins to lose coloration
As cysts develop, body may become lumpy
Fish has difficulty swimming
In advanced cases spine may become curved
Secondary infections such as fin rot and bloating
I will do some more research.

Is it innapropriate, though? There is no known cure to neon tetra disease, and everything I am reading is saying to euthanize infected fish.

Maybe it is just bloat and I have caused everyone to think that it is more serious than it actually is.

What really matter is the OP's fish. I really do hope that it is OK.
