Stress Coat+

I have been treating a few rescues with stress coat+ and aquarium salt for fin ror. I finished the 5 day salt treatments. Now I'm just using the stress coat+. Do i have to do waterchanges everyday with the stress coat or is once a week ok? Also do I add stress coat everyday or just when I do water changes? One more question if the fins are starting to grow back do I continue the stresscoat? Thanks

Are you using the Stress Coat+ as your main water conditioner?

I wasn't and someone told me that you could as long as it is the plus.

it's what I use as my water conditioner, so yes, new water should be treated with it! Just follow your normal water change schedule once the treatment for the fin rot is done.

Yes, it is fine to use as your main water conditioner. I needed to ask because that will determine how often you use it. Shadyr is correct that you should use it it every water change. No need to add it daily, just when you need to condition tap water to make it safe. Make sure to follow the directions on the bottle. There are different dosages depending on what you are using it for.

Question. When you add the Stress Coat+ to the water you are going to add, do you have to wait a certain amount of time before you add the conditioned water to the tank, or does the conditioner work immediately?

I stir the water around pretty well after adding it, and once the temp is within a degree or two of the tank, I add it in. That is anywhere from "right away" if I got the water temp correct to start, up to half an hour or so.
