Steel (HM m) Then & Now- little boy is growing up

I got this boy from PetSmart.. I don't know how it is at all PetSmart's but the two near here sell their Halfmoons at a very young age and many of them are actually Deltas and not Halfmoons, but they tend to get Betta names wrong all the time..
Anyway, Steel was very little when I got him and was gray, steel blue with somewhat clear fins with hints of that steel blue through them. Now he's black, steel blue and red and so sooo much bigger. He's still not nearly full grown but he's matured so much and has really come into his color.

When I first got him I was kind of figuring he would turn out to be a Delta but he's definitely a HM. It's really hard to get good pictures of him with his fins flared because he only ever does it for a second before racing off and my camera isn't nearly fast enough to catch it.

Here a pic of him before and after... I added a few of him from when he was smaller as well as some more from earlier in the week. :)

Thank you! I didn't expect him to turn out like he did, he's SO much more beautiful then I could have hoped for. I figured he would keep his somewhat clear fins and his body would stay snake-like and not get all thick and buffed out lol.

He built his first bubble nest about two months ago too :) unfortunately it was right when I was about to move him into his new tank which is a gallon larger then the one he was previously in. I let him keep it for an extra week before moving him to the tank he's in now.. He hasnt built a new nest yet, but i'm sure he'll do it eventually.

Oh I'm sure he will too; he's probably happy with that extra gallon ;) I always feel bad when Junior makes a nest the day I need to change his water.. but I don't think he minds too much haha

Thank you! He's turning into quite the little show off too. I just wish my camera would take pictures right when I tell it to instead of waiting and flashing like 6 times before actually taking the picture. It makes things so difficult lol
