After watching my beloved white CT Albus suffer through fin rot and treating him with AQ salt 1tsp/gal for 10 days, I have discovered that he's got dropsy :( His fins haven't healed at all, either. So, it's probably time to euthanize, unfortunately. My question is, what is the best, most humane way to do this? I know there's freezing the water, clove oil, and vodka, but the only method I really have right now is freezing. Unless putting baking soda in will work? I've euthanized other fish this way, but I don't think it would work with a betta.
My other question is what I'll need to do with the equipment. Do I need to throw it all out or can I simply disinfect with vinegar?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
