My lovely red doubletail boy passed away today.
I had just placed him into a 2g tank last night, and was proud of myself for finally having a heater and good sized tank for my guys. He was slow and sulky, I figured it was because he needed time to get used to the new tank. But this morning I went to check on everybody, and I saw that he had shredded his fins, it wasn't the filter because I had put the toe of a pantyhose over the intake so his fins wouldn't get caught. He was also straight up and down in his plant. So placed him into the smaller tank he was in before, hoping to get a chance to start a treatment to regrow his fins. However, when I checked on him later he had "beached" himself in his plant and passed away.
I feel that I stressed him to death trying to make him happier in a nicer tank.
