Food problem

My betta, Amir, will eat his food then spit it out. When I feed him he seems excited. But he just spits it out and tectonically isn't eating. I'm worried. I use Bettamin flakes and also the pellets. He won't eat either of them. Am I just going to have to find a brand he likes? Is he just picky?

Try soaking the pellets in tank water first, for about 5-10 minutes and feed him one piece at a time. That usually does the trick.

Do you have any frozen/freeze dried Bloodworms or Brine Shrimp for him at all? You can try giving those to him as a treat and see if he'll eat those.

I'll try that, I don't have any bloodworms yet but I plan to get them for him soon.

Soaking would take out the nutrients out of the food, try soaking it in garlic juice. It'll enhance the smell and flavor. Is he new? New Bettas might not eat. If he's not sick, then he's picky.

I tried soaking it in the tank water, but he just spit it out. He is new, so maybe that's eat. Even he doesn't eat here ina few days I'll try the garlic juice.

It might take 1-3 weeks for him to adjust. Well, that's the maximum I've heard, good luck!
