Smile Yet Another Question from the Almost New Betta Owner.

Hello again! So thanks to everyone for answering my questions. I found that where I live, Petco had the best water conditions. I actully had to force myself not to buy a beautiful dark-blue crowntail right then !

Well, I (again) have another question for you guys, which is do I need an air pump/airstone? In both my books and on other sites, I've found a lot of contreversy on the topic. I just don't want to spend so much money if I don't need to.

So, again thank you for anyone who answers. It's so AWESOME when people take time to answer my stupid questions. Oh well.

You dont need an airstone because bettas do not absorb oxygen from the water column through their gills as do other fish. If you are cycling, your filter's output flow does the exchange of gases.
