Gravel won't run clear

I'm setting up a new tank, and I'm using old gravel that I used a few years ago. It's blue and black. I've rinsed and rinsed it in hot water, and it still won't run clear. Blue specks keep coming up. So just how clear does it need to be?

If you're confident its clean then just let it sit for a couple of days and then do a large water change. The particles will settle.
