This new little guy is different than my others...

He's more shy. Usually my little dudes adjust pretty quickly. But anyway... my awesome brother took me to buy another betta for my birthday. And I came across this guy. He's got a rip in his tail. It's straight from the edge to his body. Doesn't look infected or anything. No tail rot. Just ripped. It'll heal. Already looks better.

He's very shy, so this is the only clear picture I got. He looked quite violet colored when I got him. The warm clean water of course changed that a bit. I'm guessing I will eventually have a beautifully deep red male at some point. His color keeps getting deeper and more reddish day by day. I'm not even sure what the pattern would be called.

He's beautiful! One of my guys was really shy for about a month, and has only recently started coming out to greet me at feeding time!

He's starting to come out a little more. And he's very interested in food. He has a huge cave in his tank so that gives him more privacy than my other boys seem to need. He likes to watch me from the safety of his cave.

my fiance's betta Eric is very engaging with people, but shy with other animals. he hardly ever flares at a mirror, tries to avoid it instead. i joke a lot that he's less of a siamese fighting fish and more of a siamese "running away" fish :)
