If you're referring to the picture that's my avatar, it was a smaller tank I got when I first got my betta. To be honest, I feel like I rescued him, because the walmart I got him at had 4 on display, and 2 were dead. So I just got what I could afford at the time.

The tank I have now is 1G (according to the box, I don't if that's true, but I don't think they can lie about volume).

I'll probably look into a bigger tank once I get more settled in, possibly some friends (not other male betta's obviously).

Thanks everyone for your advice and help.

P.S. I will be going to pickup a water test kit this morning.
I'm so happy that you got some sleep and that he is doing well! You are most welcome anytime!~

Two of my males were in a 5.5g and so stressed! One is now in a 2.5, and the other a 1g bowl until I can afford another 2.5, and they are both happier. My little female betta now has the spacious 5.5g and she loves it! I think that sometimes for the males, a larger area feels "too open" for them to ever settle down..just my experience with these two anyway!

Yeah I feel the same with the Males My girl that I used to have loved the space but not this guy. He likes it small.
