Lumps on sides of my betta

Caviar has noticeable lumps on both sides of his body. I don't know if this was due to overfeeding at the pet store prior before we bought him, but the lumps are very noticeable. He doesn't act out of the ordinary - I just want to know if this is anything to be worried about? If he is constipated, I can possibly try fasting him 2 days out of the week instead of one; maybe even give him a pea?

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? His appearance has flourished since bringing him home: brighter colors, golden scales more visible

When did you start noticing the symptoms? The lumps on both sides were apparent since we took him home

That's just his swim bladder, from what I can see. Nothing to worry about. It's perfectly normal.

He's beautiful! I love solid-blue bettas! :)

Quick pointers: don't give him peas, ever, even if he's constipated. You'll know if he's constipated because he'll swell up dramatically by his ventrals (the two elongated fins under his face). Peas aren't meant for bettas and all it does is irritate their delicate stomachs. Also, don't soak his food from now on, it causes all of the nutrients to disappear into the water.

All in all, Caviar looks like he's in great health. I don't think the pet store was overfeeding him.
