Hellllloooooo!

Hi everyone. I have been lurking on this site for a long time and figured it was time to join and have some of my most pressing betta questions answered. Actually there is only one pressing question. What color would my betta be considered?

I have attached a pic; if it doesn't upload, then I am referring to the red one on the right side of my avatar pic. I can post better pics if needed.

Thanks all and I do love this site!

Susan

Hi and welcome to the forum glad you decided to join us. Your fish are pretty, I have one the same color as the blue one but he is a crowntail instead of a veil tail.

Thank you Perseusmom. Both of my fish are from Walmart (gasp); there are not a lot of options where I live. I had a crowntail before I got the red VT and it got some sort of disease, that made him very bloated. After doing a lot of research on here it seemed that a lot of crowntails had the same problem, so I got a second VT for the other side of the tank.

I recently put some live plants in the tank and bought two mystery snails. The two mystery snails died along with some of the plants, but now I have a nice collection of pond snails. I have since learned to quarantine plants longer than three days; it did take about a month before I started seeing baby snails. I am not sure what I am going to do with all of the pond snails, but I can't kill anything. I even catch spiders and let them outside.

They are both very beautiful boys! I love VTs!

And for future reference, the tail type had nothing to do with any problems a betta has in the sense youre speaking of. It sounds like he either had swim bladder disorder or he had dropsy- which are two things any betta of any tail type can get.

I wish your bettas long healthy lives!

Hi welcome to the forum.
Not sure what color your boy is - picture not clear enough.
