Mold on lid

I was just looking at my tank and the condensation under my glass lid and I started thinking.... It's damp, it's warm, it's not very bright....is mold a concern here?

I clean the underside of the lid when I do water changes...I get a lot of condensation under the lid on Buddy's tank especially...it's very humid down here!

I've never cleaned my lid before and everything has been fine but it just seems like ideal conditions for mold...

It is. I've had some problems with some type of mold or fungus before. When it does happen to me, I take a paper towel and wet it with vinegar. I use that to wipe the growth away. Very rarely does it return after that.

Should I only worry when I see mold then?

Ya. If you see it clean it. Otherwise, it's not a big problem. Although it isn't a bad idea to give the hood a wipe down with a paper towel every once in a while. Mine gets algae if I don't.
