Hi Everyone!

I've been lurking on this forum for a few days and thought I might as well join.
I just bought my first betta fish but I did own them when I was younger. I thought I knew the basics of how to care for them, but I guess not.
That's what I get for not researching first! (I researched before getting my other animals, dunno why I didn't think to for bettas *blush*)
I found this website when searching the different colors of betta fish and realised that the <1 gallon bowl I have Powerball in is way too small. I didn't even think about changing the water. My BF and I have since purchased a 6.6gal which is cycling now.

Anyway, about me! I'm a college student, work in a local pet store, and I love cooking, photography, and my 3 ferrets Wesley, Bandit, and Percy.

Thats all for now! Off to read some more.

EDIT: Oh and here is a picture of Powerball! He's a crown tail, mixed colors.

Hi and welcome to the forum! I have two of my five bettas in 1g bowls..they are perfectly fine for the long finned males IMO...one of my males hated the 5.5g I bought for him. He is going into a 2.5 at some point, but right now is happy and healthy. I'm glad you were able to get the upgrade though..that is very cool! I love photography too!

Powerball does seem to like his small tank, but I think he will enjoy his new tank as well. More places to hide etc.

Welcome to the forum glad you found us, this is the perfect place to learn about proper Betta care ! I have a Royal Blue CT, he was in a gallon bowl for a week while I waited for my 5 gallon tank and he loves it, he has the best time swimming around and exploring, he checks out every inch of his home..lol You and your Betta will love the bigger tank. Powerball is pretty boy !

I really like your betta he's really pretty and keep you 1 gal for a hospital/ quantine tank just incase :)
