Think wal-mart is bad? So to the live seafood part of the grocery store. There is a layer of 3+crabs and the water is filthy. I'll go catch my own fish, thank you.

I just grab the nearby fancy betta water walmart sells and refill cups as lord knows I can't buy them all.

Welp don"t give up hope, keep trying, afterall, here in Canada we finally got them to stop selling live pets. :) but I agree with the "past away fishy phobia" I cannt even strongly mentally handle seeing the lethargy bettas, not to mention the ones that are clearly fighting to survive. :'( (it also gets really sad when u can even diagonose what they have, but I just cannt handle attempting to rescue, and I feel so bad about it, but yahh one day I will be strong enough (mentally) and put my fishy knowledge to use and help a few "rescues". All we can do for now is make sure all of our friends and people we know treat their bettas right. And teach them if they dont :)
