I decided to use my laptop point the light at me and they get no light I originality did not know filters put oxygen in the water so I left it on so the plants make oxygen.

Betta can also take atmospheric oxygen with the use of their labyrinth organ. Their ancestors come from really low dissolved oxygen waters. They don't need a high level of water oxygenation.

XD some people will tell you that you are over stocking :O
24 hours isnt great for any animal. even plants need a period of darkness to grow :)

I do not just keep bettas in the 10 gallon Betta and apple snail in the 20 gallon one endler, some guppies, female Betta, 3 cories, 2 otos, 1 emperor tetra.

No. Fish don't just sense light with their eyes, although the eyes play a large part in it. They have photoreceptors in their skin cells, too. There is no fish for which continuous light is healthy. Just get a fake aquarium with plastic fish if you want a fish-tank night light.

i changed to 12 hour lighting I just asked because they do not have eyes and you guys did not talk about fish without eyes and I hate artificial I like real plants real fish real lava rock no need to bash like that I did not get a 20 gallon as a night light i like fish and gardening and a planted tank got that plus fish have been shown to help with my anxiety adhd, ocd, mthfr gene mutation, asperger syndrome, and deppression.

Cover the tanks if you must have a light on. I feel bad if I keep Perseus up past his bedtime with the overhead ceiling light being where my laptop is, I dont like him to be up past 10 at night and only have the hood light on a few hours during the day cause I have live plants and they need the light, I think at least 4 hours and they need darkness at night also. He doesnt mind the hood light being on now cause Hornwort is floating on top of the water but he did not like it on before then.
