could be finrot?

Hey guys, I think my halfmoon has the beginnings of finrot... at first i thought it was ammonia... bec he isnt acting lethargic and it didnt look like dark edges... but i noticed today that there is a little bit of dark in there... it looked at first like he was turning into a rosetail but now hes beginning to look like a crowntail... and frankly he has so much tail that i cant get a good look/ pic of it... what should i do... i dont wanna rush out and buy meds bec i dont wanna hurt him

I would start changing his water more often in a 2 gallon tank, I would do at least 2 50 perfect and 1 100 percent each week. I hope his fins heal soon...good luck !

agreed with Perseusmom..i have a 2 gallon as well.i do 2 50% water changes with 1 100% a week.

becareful with the bettafix..it can harm the labyrinth organ..i use it also.but rarely.only if needed.

its better to put the betta in a hospital tank like a 1 gallon...treat there.that way not to contaminate the tank.and easier to clean...

for a 2 gallon use about 1/2 teaspoon of AQ salt.

oh dont use the medication or salt for more than 10 days..and when medicating.change the water every day....the best thing for any betta with fin rot or anything is clean water..oh my 2 gallon is in my pix.my avatar is 1 of my girls named donna in her 2 gallon.

the box said to use a tablespoon for 5 gallons so for a 2.5g it would be half a tablespoon and the guy at the lfs said to use double than normal if theyre sick so he told me to use half a tablespoon.....
