You could do the treatment for 10 days maximum. But I don't see anything wrong with it.

No, biting doesn't look like that. There's a tear, though. Are there any sharp decorations in your tank?

Yes. Please take out the plastic. Silk plants are better for Bettas. I only see the tear at the picture above that one.

I know silk is better, I just can't find any. I did a 50% tank change yesterday. He seems a bit more active than he was before. Still not eating, though. I tried soaking the pellets in garlic juice. He still wouldn't eat that. I guess I'll just keep trying to feed him..

So you suggest I should do the salt treatment at all?

I also bought an apple snail for him, but I have them separated for now.

Well, if you give him clean water you don't need to do the AQ Salt treatment. BTW, the mystery snail gives off a lot of ammonia and need at least 5 gallons to themselves.
