QT plants

I went to Petsmart last night to get a new filter and some more silk plants for Dumbledore since I think he's having a hard time in a fairly empty 5.5 gal which is why he ripped his tail in half, literally.

I also picked up a Marimo Moss Ball. I know I've read to QT them for at least 2 weeks before putting it in your tank. I got home changed the water it was in and just left it in the cup on the counter next to my tank. Should I have done that? What should I be looking for if I shouldn't put it in my tank? What should I be looking for so I know I can put it in my tank?

Some people QT plants, some don't. I never have. If your marimo was already sitting in a cup on it's own it should be fine. Usually the concern is when plants and fish are kept together at the store, which is not the case.
