Congrats on your new fish! And welcome to the site!
The biggest community of fellow betta lovers are right here on this site! :) (*non-biased cough*)
He's handsome too! You said you want an aqua-ish betta, just wait the betta bug will bite you and soon enough you'll be sporting multiple bettas!! haha (I started with one too, as did many members here)
What size is that bowl? He might benefit from a cave to duck in to. Also, keep an open mind to the fact that once summer starts cooling down he will need a heater in his tank :)
All the best!

Thank you very much everyone! Dokking didn't die overnight! I've never had a fish before so, yeah XD

He also wasn't dead after I got home from work. He WAS hungry tho' O.O

@indjo - Maybe visit Dokkin's album in my profile? =)

@Laki
Yeah. I'll see if Dokkin survives 6 months I'll ask my boyfriend to get me an aqua betta in our half anniversary in february. Seems its called a "Turquoise" color.

The bowl is 3.75 liters (I measured it to put in the right amount of water conditioner). So atm I don't think I can put inside a castle. They seemed big at the pet store O.O

I'm saving up to get him a bigger home so I can add a heater in the winter. Good thing the weather here's hot until november and then it cools down. And thank you for the good wishes.

Btw: I upp'd more pics of him on his album in my profile. If anyone has more tips or would just like to comment something on the album, feel free to do so!!

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone! =D

OH!! my anniversary with my bf is in Feb too!! (feb 21)
Bettas are always hungry (*rolls eyes*) I gutted mine yesterday with frozen bloodworms (normally you should only feed a couple but mine got like 6-7 each) and within the hour they were doing their hungry dance again!! I was like @-@

For pellets, 3-4 normal sized pellets is sufficient :)
Going to look in your albums now :)

I think I may be feeding him too much =S

I've been giving him 10 pellets in the morning at around 7am and 10 around 7pm. (The hikari betta bio gold). He eats them up within the minute =/. I read somewhere I should let him eat as much as he wants within 2 mins, but I don't think his belly would be able to handle all the pellets he could eat .

I read a blog/site where it showed a properly fed and an overfed betta and Dokkin's belly was like the overfed one. D=

Could I be feeding him too much? =/

The whole "feed as much as you can in 2 minutes" must have been written by the bettas themselves. They WILL eat until they explode!
