I was in the pet store to pick up kitty stuff the other day, and as usual stopped to look at the bettas. I should know better. Anyway, there was a gorgeous little crowntail girl - sapphire blue. I told her I had to clear it with the hubby, but that I would try to be back for her.
So my price was I can't look anymore

But Sapphire is home and in a 2G kritter keeper now. I love watching her swim - it's so different from the males and their long fins. She really zips around - arrives at her destination of the moment and whips her fins and tail open like a fan. Pause...fins and tail compress and off she zooms. This makes her very unfortunately hard to take a picture of. By the time the camera focuses, she's either out of or exiting the frame of view.
Since putting her in the 2G, her fins and tail have developed pink accents. She's a looker. I'll keep trying to get a good picture of her, but here she is newly arrived at home in her cup, I think you can see why the color caught my eye!
Sapphire *IS* my birthstone.
