How to cut dead leaves.

I know i have posted about plant leaves going brown before but what do i do when they are going brown.

I am talking about anubias hastofolia..it has attached very well to a rock and has grown some new leaves but a couple have brown patches..do i cut as close to the base as poss?

The other is Potted Vallis Vallisneria spiralis 'leopard..i have three pots each with about ten stems but some of the leaves are decaying..again do i cut at the base? and can i snip the top if they become to long?

Cut at the base because nothing will grow from the decaying stems anyways.

I only trim off parts that are BROWN. If it's green I leave it alone.

I would love to have vallis plants that grew to the surface of the tank, but those things should be placed all the way in the back, so it doesn't impede your view. Anything that grows WELL I try not to mess with.

If you trim the plants too much you cause them to die off.
