Question How to Volunteer at PetCo

KcSaf and I had an idea that we could volunteer at PetCo for community service hours. But the problem is we don't know where to start. We have searched their website but the only volunteer project was with cats, and we strictly want to work with bettas. Changing their water, helping with new shipments, feeding etc. But there is no info about this online. We were wondering if any of you have had experience with this or any ideas on how to help us. Keep in mind that we are minors and are not old enough to have a job there. Thanks in advance!

Why not walk in the store and ask? You'll probably get a better response if you have a piece of paper saying you need the community service hours and an adult there to back up the claim.

Chances are that they will not allow you to strictly work with the betta fish. It never hurts to ask a manager, though.

Koi's suggestion makes more sense. Adult recommendation & some sort of volunteer type documentation would definitely help. I was just going to tell you to walk into the store and talk to the manager.

You have to be able to convince the manager it's to their store's benefit & not a liability to have you HELP in the store.

Have a plan ready & don't just run in there begging.

I would go in with a parent or guardian and ask to see the manager, the HEAD manager. There are other managers but the top guy/gal makes all the decisions.

Don't limit yourself to bettas, they might want you to work in different departments and if you say "bettas only" they might say "good-bye".
