New Doubletail... help with color!

a123andpoof - awww, I'm sorry you didn't find a marble today! But think of it this way: now you get to go fish shopping another day! I loooove going and looking at all the pretty fish in the stores, even if I can't get any of them.

Thanks Candice! He does look great in there. He practically disappears when I turn off the tank light, though. LOL He sure is an active little guy... much more so than Drago. But to be fair, Zen has a filter to deal with and Drago has completely still water hahaha.

I noticed a small lump on his left side near his tail. I am not overly concerned about it, but I am curious. I'm going to be watching my little guy to make sure he is okay. His other side is sort of indented, though, so I think it might just be a slight deformity.

Aww, thanks, guys! I love my new little dude. He's starting to learn that I come bearing food, and he's cautiously started swimming over to the glass when I come over. Drago, of course, learned long ago that I have food, so he's always dancing in front of the glass when I come over. In time, I hope Zen learns to do that, too!

The red spot on top of his head is really one of the things that attracted me to him. It's almost like a little red beret or something haha. I think he has a precious face... too cute, the way he stares at me. Next step? Work on getting him to flare for me, and build me a bubblenest!

PS: It's hard to see, but he actually has another red spot on his left side, just above his gills. You can kind of see it in the pics I have posted. Maybe he is what people call a "Koi-colored" betta. ^_^
