Exclamation Too Agressive?

So I had reached into my fish's tank to take out something I saw floating in there and all of a sudden he charged and the freaking idiot bit me!!!! I don't understand why, is he being too agressive towards me? He was flaring a little bit ago so maybe he was still thinking he was defending his territory? Either way, I'm kind of mad haha. I've never had a fish bite me and it felt weird.

I don't think that's necessarily too aggressive. If it's a common thing, then maybe. But I've had my fish bite me before XD

Yeah I've had one of my boys bite me on accident, he thought I was about to drop food from my fingers I think. He's never done it since and he likes to hang out by my hands when I'm moving plants around. He even lets me pet him.

It's just instinct, is all, and you can't take it personally. They are a naturally aggressive fish, bred for centuries to be even MORE aggressive. I'm surprised they don't jump out of their tanks at night and go ninja on our asses.

And their bites don't hurt at all. But they can surprise you!
