I was sitting there watching TV still am then a barbie commercial came on for some doll the swooped it by a small unheated open top unfiltered tank with a purple Betta and no hiding spots.
They often use colorful fish for advertisements i think it is horrible because it shows kids that those awsesome girls with barbies have a fish so they should have one just like it its horrible
There are so many commercials were I just want to rail at someone at the ad agency--how can they think it's okay to show improper conditions for any animal? :-/
I seen the chimerical too, I wonder what they did with the betta, buy it then return it? Or give it to the kid so she keeps in a bowl. The doll was scaring the betta a bit..One beautiful betta.
Yes a great Betta unfortunately they probably killed it I read about a TV show with a goldfish Bowl and after the recording it went into a 10 gallon doubt they did it with the Betta we could also protest the shows and products that keep encourage and sponsor animal abuse like the bowl and products with animal abuse in the commercial.
Those tiny bowls and vases seriously need to be banned. Its a shame that so many people are misinformed about Bettas and keep buying them without knowing how to take care of them correctly. . I'm a new Betta keeper but I read up extensively on Betta keeping prior to getting my little guy. I wish that everyone would do the same.
I bought my Betta in a bowl like 1.5 after I took down my ten and moved my fish into a twenty gallon. I gave him a heater my sisters Betta died like three months later in an unheated tank now my male is in a ten gallon with an apple snail. My female resides in a twenty gallon. Still have the bowl she come with.
