Best water for tank

I've been using tap water and conditioner for my two betta tanks for a while now...strangely, one tank is always clear and the other is always cloudy. Someone suggested that I use bottled water to get rid of the cloudiness. If I go this route, which is the best type to use...purified or spring? I had heard distilled was bad for the fish.

I use Spring water--the distilled water has been scrubbed clean of minerals and other nutrients that are beneficial--myself, though I do use tap to supplement when needed.

I prefer Hannaford's brand of water since the pH is right around 7, but I know some people like Poland.

Tap water is best.

One is most likely cloudy because it is trying to establish nitrifying bacteria, that will convert ammonia to nitrite, then nitrite to nitrate that is much less toxic to a betta.

So really, spring water won't do a thing...
