Betta's colors change for a variety of reason - temp, mood, health, lighting, the presense of other bettas...

What's the temp in his tank, and what is his main diet?? How long has his color been different?

color changing

The color changing is in the body of the fish. His fins and tail are a dark blue and his body is almost orange. What should the temperature be?

This is a tropical fish, so the temperature should be between 76-80 degrees. How often are you changing his water? What size is his tank?

I know that some color change in natural. EX: my fish has bllod red fins but has snow developed a black trim (not tail rot)

My fish, when stressed, turns a yellowish brown color with brown streaks through his body. Color change by stress is something the owner can determine.

I use 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt per 1 gallon to help with stress and color developement. (you may have to play with amounts of salt, I may be putting a tad bit too much :P ) and remember he aint a pretzel

It would be helpful to know more about your setup. What size is your tank? Heated? How often do you change the water? Do you know the water parameters? What do you feed your betta?
