As for exercise, thug, you don't need too much room. you can help them flare by showing them a reflection. Flaring is very good excercise :) It's the same idea as hamster wheels or those machines at the gym. very littlw room. but very good excercise.

Some say flaring stresses a betta out. this is certainly true for individual bettas. you can work around your bettas's personality and vary their exercise times.
Mu betta can flare all day XD

No, I do not believe that the leading cause of death in bettas is obesity. There are so many things more prevalent. Yes, constipation, but that isn't obesity, that is over eating. Not the same thing. And many "fat" fish are actually sick fish. Swim bladder issues make a betta look "fat" and parasites.. so no, I don't believe you. And I am still asking for proof. I do my research, thank you very much. You, on the other hand, seem to pull things out of thin air all the time. "Facts" that can not be substantiated.
When I prove you wrong you try to mock my facts in the simplest terms Betta in bowl eats a lot no exercise obesity then a magical thing happens that destroys the kidneys.

Okay, let's drop the topic of obesity now because it has nothing to do with a betta not eating his pellets.

Agreed. Apologies for the outburst, it's not at all like me. :/ Like I said, seems like every forums I've been on lately, everyone's on edge and grumpy.

Anyway. Thug, a lot of people here will feed their bettas for 6 days, then fast them on the 7th. I fast on saturdays, so I can sleep in a couple hours (before the fry need fed, of course)

Can we just get back to the topic and quit arguing, please? If you disagree with someone then fine but please be respectful of others' opinions.

heh, when I first got on this forum someone told me I should rehome my fish or bring it back to the store

as if!

anyway, fish will be fine, upgrades will come and if your betta doesn't like the pellets you give him try another brand. One of mine would only eat sinking catfish pellets for a long time

Oh, and some flower vases are HUGE!
