do you mean a full clean, scrubbing down the inserts and sifting the gravel, or just a glass cleaning? if it's the first, then you should take everybody out to prevent injury from moving things around. if the second, just make sure your hands are clean (wear gloves if you can) and just avoid bumping anyone along the way.

Nope, no need to remove anyone for just a partial change and a little glass scrubbing. ;)
