How many days have you had him exactly? Has he consumed any food at all since you got him?

That sounds like a very good setup.....but you shouldn't have any ammonia o.o. Definitely want to do a water change ASAP if you haven't already.
Are you in the process of cycling? What are you testing your water with?

Yeah do a water change when you ammonia gets a reading like that or at least 50 percent and check again after a couple of hours. Keep offering him the pellets twice a day I bet he will finally eat . Maybe if you crush it up and see if he will eat if that way it might help but I know the NLS pellets are tiny anyway. Keep us updated on how he is doing.

Its alright, don't freak out just yet....so long as he appears otherwise healthy and active and his poo looks normal, there is really no need to panic just yet.

^A couple of questions I have asked a couple of times, and you still haven't answered.

You can try a couple of other pellet brands. NLS is the most recommended, but if he doesn't like it he doesn't like it.....you can try something like Omega One Betta Buffet, Aqueon, Hikari Bio-Gold(the last two may not be the very best in the world, but its something you can try if you really want to), or even NLS Small fish formula and see if he takes to something else. Also, have you tried soaking the pellets in fresh garlic juice to entice his appetite?

My bad!

How many days have you had him exactly? A little over a week.

Has he consumed any food at all since you got him? He tries to consume it but spits it out like 20 times then sometimes swallows it.

Using the New Life Spectrum things. Previously tried, bettafish pellets, tetra trop flakes, bloodworms, steak, barbecue chicken :0 kiddingon last two
