betta looking skinny to me....

New thread! lol.

I have been feeding my betta 4 NLS pellets every morning but recently I've noticed that I can kind of see his rib cage a little and his belly is flat. I was wondering if I should switch it to 5 pellets every morning. The past few mornings I have been giving him 5 pellets and his belly is ever so slightly rounded, almost still flat after the feeding. So is this okay?

Could you post a picture perhaps? I'm not sure what you mean by 'flat'....after feeding, I don't generally notice any change in belly size when I feed pellets. The only time my boys get any sort of belly is when I feed bloodworms, and of course thats generally gone by morning.
Whats his poo like?

Unfortunately I can't get a picture right now, but by flat belly I mean no curve where his ventral fins start (the "belly"). His poop is light brown and just little clumps.

Mmmk, poo sounds normal, so thankfully no internal parasites!

Lets see here.....Flat like this? Where you just don't see an actual distinct belly?

Or is it more sunken-in looking flat?

Hmm well I don't think it's sunken in, theres no indentation where his stomach should be (he never stays still so it's hard to get a good look but I'm pretty sure it's not sunken). But yeah it looks like there's no conspicuous belly.

Thats fairly normal then, no need to worry. :) If it looks like the picture above, where you just don't see a distinct belly, then thats fine. xD Its just the way they look. Actually it'd probably be more cause to worry if you are regularly seeing some kind of distinct belly. ;)

Okay that's good. But what started to worry me was that I can kind of see a bit of an outline where I think his rib cage is. Is that normal?

No I know the bump near the tail is normal :). Well if they don't have rib cages then I guess it's just the shape of his body... What do you think?
