Think of them how? They are pretty, but does he look a little clamped? Could be the picture..

I hear that word a lot, but I'm not sure exactly what clamped means. Explain? I wanted to know if I'm the only one who thinks they look ratty.

He looks like a basic vieltail to me. Clamped fins are when they are held close to the body. Look at his tailfin and how all the rays are close together. This is a sign of stress. Some fish are easily stressed by flash photography, but clamping is also a sign of being cold. I have a betta that even clamps if I accidentally surprise him.

This is a good picture of what fins flared out look like. Notice how the rays are much farther apart here.

Well he's not always clamped. The tank is always warm enough. I also don't use my flash on him. He might be stressed. I dunno.

Dunno about them looking ratty, could you get a picture of him flaring? Have you noticed any changes to his fins?

He's a little thin too.. what are you feeding, how much and how ofter? How long have you had him? Might want to feed some meds for internal parasites.

Do you know if you have hard or soft water ? They looked abit curled which can happen in hard water with Crown tails not sure if that can happen with the Veil tails like yours. Nothing to worry about though but I agree he does look to thin.

He hasn't eaten since I bought him. Which has been almost 3 weeks now. I've tried three different foods so far and I try everyday. I also looked for the internal parasite fizz tablets at three stores and no one has them. I'm just having a lot of trouble.
Also, the water hardness is normal.

o.o 3 weeks is a long time to not have eaten anything. There could be something very wrong with him if he hasn't eaten in three weeks.
