Hi! I'm new to this forum and I'm posting because I just got a betta on Sunday, 3 days ago, and I think there might be something wrong with him. His name is Ares, and I took this picture on Monday.
When I woke up this morning (Wednesday), he looked like this.
He's in a 1.5G tank currently. I planned on getting a larger one for him this coming weekend after doing some research, but I want to make sure he makes it until then. I tested his water, and the nitrate and nitrite levels were fine, but the water was pretty hard, and the alkalinity and pH were both higher than expected. I was planning on doing a 25% water change, and treating the water with Tetra EasyBalance, since that is what I have. So my question is, is this a good plan, or should I be doing something else to help him?
Additional Info: his tank water is spring water (as recommended by the fish guy at petco), and I treated it with Seachem Prime. I've been feeding him Aqueon Betta food, if that helps. Also, his tank has a filter. It is heated, and the thermometer currently reads 77.7 degrees F.
