This is going to sound crazy...

But is it okay to set my gravel siphon on the ground for a few seconds while I pour my tank water in?

haha I am extremely paranoid...I think I might have OCD over my fish...Are they as sensitive as I think?

EDIT: Like, I freak out that there had been traces of detergents or germs or chemicals on the ground...

You can eliminate 2 of the problems easily. Don't clean your floor with detergent or chemicals. LOL
As for bacteria you can't escape them but luckily like us, fish have immune systems to fight of bacteria. As long as they are healthy with proper water care.

Now you can put your OCD to rest.

Thank you :) i always appreciate it when someone puts my OCD to rest... But one more question... What if the floor was cleaned with detergents a really long time ago?

Well if your worried about it, you can just clean the floor with just water and dry it that should remove any residual detergent. I think some of the newer cleaning detergents are designed to biodegrade over time as to not pollute the rivers. Other chemicals should just evaporate. I think the biggest thing to worry about is not the floor but using buckets that were used to clean the floor, never use these to do water changes for your tanks or air fresheners, they release chemicals into the air that will end up in the tank killing your fish.

So try wiping down the floor with a sponge and clean water. This should alleviate any remaining OCD fears. LOL

I bought one of those extension cord wrapping thingys from wallymart. Then I used some command strips hooks to hang it on the side of my tank shelf. I actually have 2 siphon hoses. 1 to remove old water and another to siphon clean water from my preparation tank into the smaller betta tanks.
