I have two mystery snails, one in each 10 gallon tank with 2 bettas each. I was leaving for work the other day when I noticed my mystery snail was dead. He was at the bottom of the tank, with all his gooy parts floating outside his shell. I was almost late so I didn't have time to fish him out. When I got home, there he was on the side of the tank fine and dandy.
A couple days later, I saw him again "dead" this time he was floating in the middle of the tank, and I thought that if they float, they're dead. So I scooped him out and just to be on the safe side, I put him in the cup I use when I'm syphoning out junk from the tanks. I left him there for about 4 hours, and there he was against the cup just above the water. So I put them both in the tank that is slightly warmer. (80F)
What is his deal? Am I doing something wrong? How should I be caring for him?
