If you do get the new guy, the blue cellophane, you can divide that tank for them. Although, you'd have to rearrange the decor a bit.

This is my first betta Mufasa, the one with the clamped tail. :( I really do want to divide the tank, but i am feeling really lazy and will probably just buy a 5 gallon tank for the new guy. anyone recommend any good accurate thermometers? I have three and they all read differently. Ugh I hate this...Now i just have to buy all the stuff for the 5 gal and hope my boyfriend doesn't get mad lol. I've spent so much already..oh well.

Nope, I don't think so, you should just give him to me. I will take on the burden. *sneeky eyes*

Love your tank setup...beautiful! And that is a beautiful pair of bettas too! Zorro is an ABSOLUTE PERFECT name for the new guy lol! Just wanted to say I highly recomend a digital thermometer with the probe that goes on the inside...very accurate. I have a TopFin in my 3 gal and was 9.99 at PetSmart. Good luck and have fun with your new finned friends!

I had a 10g for my Tetsu before he passed, loved it. I am not sure on water changes for a 10g with only one fish, but I am sure that someone else will come along. I would watch him around those marbles, I have heard of fish catching their fins in between them and tearing their fins, I have never seen it first hand though.

I have those same 'marbles' (same color combination too) in Sparkle's tank. It has been over 3 months and he has not had any problems with them. I guess it could be a problem depending on the betta ... they all have such different personalities

I hope they both will be good with the marbles..i got them because I thought it would be easier to clean by hand but then I think i'm going to cycle the tank.

My first betta (clamped tail) has started doing a bubble nest. What exactly does that mean? He has never done one and also How soon should i see his tail open up?

I've heard that bubble nests mean the males are happy. It also means that they are ready to breed.
