Quick behavior question

Not sure if this is where I should post this, so pet me know if i dhould post this elsewhere. My male betta has not acted the same since he spawned. He ate the eggs during the breeding process, but still guarded the nest. After approximately a week he seemed to realize there wasn't any fry. He stopped eating and would only eat if here was a female nearby. He took no interest in the female whatsoever. No flaring or even general aggression. He ignored her and his own reflection all together. Just wondering if maybe it is a sign of some kind of depression? Thoughts?

I've heard of some male bettas becomming depressed after removal from the spawn tank. I haven't seen it though. Unless he is sick, he should return to normal in a little while.
