Question Bump on top of my betta fish

So I have Nemo for a good 2-3 years now. He's an older guy and I do know his time is coming. Yesterday he was fine, swimming, eating, just being a betta all fine and healthy. So this morning when I woke up I noticed that close to his head there is a tiny bump on his head. It looks like a bubble but yet it also looks like something else. He is in a 5 gallon filtered fish tank. I feed him a small pinch of food 6 days a week. He fasts every Saturday. I clean his tank 3-4 times a month. It is not heated but stays between 76 and 82 degrees most of the time. Any ideas as to what this could be?
